Who we are

This website and the NT Electric Plumbing Handyman Norman business are run by NT Electric Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11312129). Registered office: 55 Grass Acres, Leicester, England, LE3 2UR.

We are the controller of the personal data described here. That means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for protecting it. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number available on request.

To ask anything about your data, call or WhatsApp 07923 994434, or write to our registered office.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to price and do your job.

When you ask for a price

  • Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address
  • Your postcode, the type of property and when you would like the work done
  • The jobs you pick, your notes about them and any photos you upload
  • How you would like us to send the price (call, text, WhatsApp or email)

When you book a job

  • The full address where we will work, and access details you choose to share
  • The work we did, certificates we issue, invoices and payments

When you contact us

Messages, photos and call details you send by phone, WhatsApp, text or email.

When you use the website

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and working. We do not use advertising cookies. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used (pages viewed, device, approximate location); this is based on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time. See our cookie policy.

Please don't include people, children or documents in your photos. Photo of the fuse box, the leak or the wall is all we need.

How we use it, and our legal reasons

UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason for each use. Ours are:

To price your jobs and reply to you
Taking steps you asked for before a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b))
To do the work, issue certificates and invoices
Performing our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b))
To keep tax, accounting and safety certificate records
Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c))
To stop spam on our forms and keep the site secure
Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f))
To deal with complaints, guarantee claims and legal claims
Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f))

We will not send you marketing messages unless you ask us to. We never sell your data or share it for other companies' marketing. We do not make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the business. They only process your data on our instructions and under a written contract:

  • Vercel: website hosting
  • Neon: the database that stores quote requests
  • Cloudflare: domain, security and storage for uploaded photos
  • Resend: sending quote confirmation emails
  • WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp
  • Google (Google Analytics and Tag Manager): only if you accept analytics cookies. Google processes the visit data on our behalf and may transfer it outside the UK under standard data protection safeguards.
  • OpenStreetMap: the maps on our area pages. Your browser loads the map images directly from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address. No cookies are set.
  • Our accountant and accounting software, for invoices and tax records

We may also share information when the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the local building control body when electrical work has to be notified. We do this only as far as needed.

Data stored outside the UK

Some of our providers store or process data in the European Economic Area or the United States. When data leaves the UK, it is protected by a UK adequacy decision (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or by the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

Quote requests that don't go ahead
12 months from the request, then deleted with the photos
Jobs, invoices and payments
6 years after the end of the financial year they belong to, as company and tax law require
Electrical and other safety certificates
As long as the installation may need to be checked, so we can give you copies later
Messages
As long as they relate to an open quote, job or guarantee
Website logs
Kept by our hosting provider for a short period, usually days or weeks

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your personal data
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your data, where we don't need to keep it by law
  • limit how we use it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interests
  • send your data to you or another company in a common format

To use any of these rights, call or WhatsApp 07923 994434, or write to our registered office. We reply within one month. It is free.

How we keep it safe

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Quote requests and photos are stored in private storage that only we can open after signing in. Uploaded photos are never shown on the website unless you agree that we can use them as an example of our work.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way we use data changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
