Can you fit a bidet spray in an Evington bathroom?
Yes. Many households in and around Evington prefer a handheld bidet spray, sometimes called a shattaf, next to the toilet, and it's a neat, short job when done properly.
The spray connects to the cold supply, or to a thermostatic mixer if you'd like warm water, with its own shut-off valve. Because the head can reach into the toilet pan, the Water Fittings Regulations treat it as a high backflow risk, so it needs the right backflow protection to keep the drinking water safe. We fit that as standard.
Send photos of the toilet, the cistern and the pipework underneath, plus any kit you've already bought, and we'll price it from those.
Who fits the plumbing and electrics in a new kitchen or bathroom?
We can do both. Many Evington homes are 1930s semis that have had a kitchen or bathroom refit at some point, and the next refit usually needs a plumber and an electrician at the same stage.
For a kitchen, that can mean moving the sink supply and waste, adding sockets for appliances and fitting new lighting. For a bathroom, it can mean new taps, a toilet, a shower and an extractor fan. Notifiable electrical work, such as new circuits or work close to a bath or shower, is notified to building control as the law requires.
Leicester's water is hard, so a refit is also a good time to add a water filter or scale reducer under the sink.
Can you wire a new extension on a 1930s semi?
Yes, alongside your builder. Side and rear extensions are common on Evington's inter-war semis. The builder handles the structure; we do the new circuits, sockets, lighting and any plumbing that needs extending.
We check early whether the existing consumer unit has space and protection for the new circuits, because that affects the price. If it doesn't, we tell you before anything is agreed.
The old core of Evington Village has a conservation area. If you're in it, extensions and some outside changes may need permission, so check with Leicester City Council before work starts.
Can you mount a TV on the walls in an older Evington home?
Usually, yes. Inter-war houses tend to have solid brick walls, which take a bracket well, while later partitions and extensions may be plasterboard on timber or dot-and-dab. We pick fixings to suit and check for pipes and cables first.
If you want the cables out of sight, we can run them inside the wall or in neat trunking, and fit a socket behind the screen in the same visit.
Send a photo of the wall and the TV model number. Mounting several screens, or adding shelves and a mirror at the same time, can all go on the same fixed price.
Can you book around hospital shifts?
Yes. With Leicester General Hospital on the doorstep, plenty of Evington residents work shifts. We work 8am to 8pm, every day, including weekends, so we agree a time that fits your rota.
Pricing from photos means you don't have to be home for a survey. If you're asleep after a night shift, tell us, and we'll keep noisy work like drilling to a time that suits you. Evington is close to us, and when we can, we come out the same day.
