The short answer
Every job gets one fixed price, worked out from your photos or a short survey visit and agreed before we start. No hourly rate, no meter running. If we find something unexpected, we stop and price it separately. You only pay for extra work you approve.
Four steps to a fixed price
- 1. Pick your jobsOne job or ten. Add them all to one request so we can plan a single visit.
- 2. Send a few photosWide shot, close-up, and anything you're worried about. WhatsApp works too.
- 3. Get one fixed priceEach job priced separately, with what's included, within 24 hours.
- 4. Say yes, we book you inThe price you accepted is the price you pay. Extras only if you approve them.
Photos or a survey visit?
Most jobs can be priced from photos: replacing sockets and lights, fixing leaks, fitting taps, hanging doors, assembling furniture and similar work.
Bigger or hidden jobs need us to look in person first: full rewires, consumer unit upgrades on older wiring, bathroom refits, air conditioning and commercial work. Each service page tells you which applies.
Survey visits: A survey visit is charged by distance, from £20. The minimum charge for any job is £100..
What is included in the price
- All labour to finish the job described
- Materials we supply, from trusted trade suppliers
- Testing, and the right certificate for electrical work
- Protecting floors and furniture, and tidying up afterwards
- Taking away the old parts we remove
What can change the price
Only two things, and never without your say-so:
- You change the job. Add a socket, pick a different fitting, move the position. We price the change before doing it.
- Something hidden turns up. A faulty cable behind a wall, a corroded pipe under the floor. We stop, show you, and give you a fixed price for that extra part.
Time is not one of them. If a job takes us longer than we planned, that is our problem, not yours.
Questions about our prices
Why don't you charge by the hour?
Because you should know the cost before we start. An hourly rate puts the risk on you if a job takes longer. With a fixed price, that risk is ours.
Is a price from photos really fixed?
Yes, as long as the photos show the job as it is. If we arrive and find something clearly different, we explain it before starting and you decide whether to go ahead. We never just add it to the bill.
What if you find a hidden problem halfway through?
We stop, show you the problem and give you a separate fixed price for it. Nothing extra is done without your agreement. If it is unsafe, we make it safe and explain why.
Is it cheaper to book several jobs together?
Usually, yes. Travel, set-up and parking are shared across one visit, so several small jobs together normally cost less than booking each one separately.
Does the price include materials?
Yes. Unless the price says otherwise, it includes the materials we supply, labour, testing, certificates where needed, and tidying up afterwards.
How do I pay?
Cash or bank transfer. On completion. For larger jobs, a deposit when you accept the price and the rest on completion.
