Do you come out as far as Melton Mowbray?
Yes. Melton Mowbray is about 17 miles from our base, out along the A607, and comes under Melton Borough Council. It's one of the further towns we cover, so we're upfront about how to get the most from a visit.
Travel is included in your fixed price; distance is one of the things that shapes it, along with the job itself. Put everything on one request: electrical, plumbing and handyman jobs can all be done on the same visit, at one agreed price. When the diary allows, we come out the same day, but out here a booked visit is far more likely.
Can you keep a Melton food business's kitchen running?
Yes, for electrical, plumbing and ventilation work. Melton is well known for its food, from pork pies to Stilton made in the villages nearby, and the town has plenty of bakeries, butchers, cafés and small producers. Their kitchens depend on equipment that works every day.
We can connect electric catering equipment, fit and repair extractor fans, add sockets where they're needed and fix leaks under sinks. We don't do gas work, so gas ovens, hobs and fryers need a Gas Safe registered engineer.
For the paperwork side, we carry out commercial EICRs, PAT testing and emergency lighting tests. We work 8am to 8pm every day, so jobs can often be planned around opening hours, and a planned maintenance plan can bring the regular checks together on a schedule.

Is work on a period home in Melton's town centre more complicated?
Sometimes. The older streets around the market place and the parish church have many period buildings, and the historic centre is covered by a conservation area. Changes to the outside, such as new lights, cameras, vents or a charge point on a front wall, may need permission, so check with Melton Borough Council before anything is fitted. Listed buildings may need consent for some internal work too.
Inside, older houses often have solid walls and original features. We plan cable and pipe routes to avoid them where we can, and talk you through the options before we start.
What about village homes without mains gas?
Electric heating and hot water often matter more there. Some villages around Melton are off the gas network, and some homes rely on electric heaters, storage heaters or an electric shower.
We can fit modern electric radiators and heaters, install or replace electric showers, and check that the circuits feeding them are safe and big enough. Older cottages and farmhouses also tend to have outbuildings with wiring added over the years, which we check before connecting anything new.
If a property has a garage, stable or workshop that needs power, we can run a new supply to it safely. Lighting along a long drive or yard is another common request, and it can go on the same visit as any work inside the house.
